So I've been taking the extra sceneic route on this vacation. Got to the base of the Mt Washington Auto Road this morning at 1155 to be told that no bikes allowed today: 70mph sustained winds and gusts above that... What in the actual F![]()

5th wheel raised 1". Ramps raised 1" with some plasma cut 6x2x1/4". Everything painted and fenders back on.
Now I get to carry on installing my LS6 intake on the LSx motor in my Range Rover. Or to be more accurate, finish off changing everything DUE to the LS6 intake manifold....
MartinSHC Thanks this. -
So basicly building everything around the intake manifold.. That deal has kinda biten you in the backside has'nt it?
-
The Rover was up and driving great. I had to lift it though, to make the oil pan not hit the tie rod which is behind the front axle.
The missus didn't like the way "it felt" when it was lifted 2", so the only other thing was to raise the engine, which needed a car style intake. So I scored a good deal on a complete LS6 intake manifold inc throttle body, injectors, etc. Worth @25 extra HP supposedly, so not without it's benefits.
Here is what needs changed now it's installed.
New water pump, as the throttle body being lower down hit the top neck on the truck style one. A 2008 Escalade water pump is perfect, and fits like a glove.
Move the alternator down, as it hit the hood. No biggie as I made my own accessory mounting plates anyways.
Make new throttle and transmission cable linkages. Made my own to begin with, so no biggie again
Make new air intake. As above
Make new fuel system. Old was return style, new is returnless. Corvette filter/regulator for $35 is the fix.
Injector plugs are different so will solder new p;lugs onto my harness.
Just PIA stuff, but it's my "toy" so no biggie really.

Did you decide to raise the 5th wheel because of how low the blade trailer is?
-
I was looking at raising it before that, when I still had the 3axle RGN. The blade trailer made me remove the fenders though, which now I have got used to them, I hated! Now they are back on.
The blade trailer missed them, but on a dip when loaded, especially if turning, wouldn't have been pretty.
Milt had his on still, and they showed some "wear" from a little trailer contact. I also noticed he had done the same thing I just did, so I accused him of stealing my idea....
He used some @3" wide steel though, where I used 6", to go all the way across the angle iron and frame.
MartinSHC Thanks this. -
Not to mention, so far I have no idea if I will be pulling the trailer past Rochester or not. No ideas when I spoke to the travel agent last Tuesday.

Well if you do pull it again, at least you know you will not be hitting your fenders. I have gotten mine a few times. Scuff marks on the tops of them
-
I have the same problem. The D rings on the front of the trailer gets into my fenders. I have to bungee up the D rings to avoid destroying the fenders. When you get a chance, show a pic of your 5th wheel spacers if you dont mind.

Are you still sitting at the bottom of the hill???? lol
