Where is everyone #3

I've seen a couple of those cabovers now. For a while, there was an ad on truckpaper for custom built cabovers like that from a place down here in FL. A big house that doesn't look like an afterthought, kind of like the Kiev Custom sleepers.

 

Imagine having to tilt the cab....

 

Didn't even think about that. Wonder how you do get to work on the engine?

 

Maybe it never breaks down?

 

Auburn, Ca in a wide spot off of I-80... dropped down into the bay and kicked off the shingles then headed out to Lathrop to pick up pallets of fertilizer headed for Caldwell,ID.... had to readjust straps 3 times already.....

 

Well we finally got our Il. permit and beat feet for Evansville, In.
Customer was working, so we got offlded.
First he tells me to back into the door. Ok, my wife is out with the stop and go paddle and I start getting into postion. Oh wait a minute, They lded. it the wrong way. Need you to pull in now.. I'm like huh?
Seems their overhead crane is a big spreader bar setup and they can not turn the gear box.
Ok, Get all turned around and pull it in.
Got offlded and headed to the trkstp for a shower.
Now to find another ld...

 

Hey I been to that GE place, they made pull in head first and then back into the street with no help

 

They give you crap about loading it backwards?

 

No not me, I said I did'nt know and their people were the ones who lded. me.
They said yea we tell them and sometimes they listen sometimes they don't.
What really got me was that flimsy cradle they lded it on. Darn thing colapsed on us some.Plus they used a big soft wood block in the rear. Was wondering why I had to keep snugging up my chains. Had 10 1/2 chains on it.

 

I'm just glad my wife was there to help spot and it was like 6:30 in the evening. I think during the day it might of been more fun dodging the cars...
