Finally loaded out of Sparta Nj heading to Lexington Ky but first grab some food at the TA

 

OK. WTF do brokers think charging under $ 3/mile. on a wide load. that needs 2 escorts as well as permits.

I'm. in shock, how they have the audacity to think it can be moved for that price.

i give you guys so much credit for sticking to your guns on wide load moves.

 

I just bid a 12 wide. The broker came back with a number that was exactly the price of the permits lower than mine I told him if he was going to buy the permits that was find if not find some other truck to haul it. I haven't heard back from him so I'm not holding a truck for him.

 

some of these brokers are fishing. hard to low ball. I can't even call it low ball. what do they expect charity?

 

I haven't hauled an oversize yet this year as I've seen very few rates that would make it worth my time.

 

Ran out of time in Jensen, Ut. Then back to Denver

 

Made it to the TA in Limon, CO. Head down 287 tomorrow for Wheeler, TX and get unloaded. Then head to Springdale, AR to load Friday and go home.

Get a call this afternoon from the Landstar agent I am hauling this piece for just as I am crossing into LA.

Uh, you have to turn around and go back....

So I order a new permit to go the 250 miles back to the shipper and find a place to turn around on a 2 lane hwy

Then the shipper calls me and says stop, send us pictures of the parts of the piece.

Back and forth with pictures and calls - waste a couple hours. Don't come back.

Today sucked

 

They gonna buy the extra permit?? If not then it really sucked. Looks like I'm spending the next week running sand from Denver to Watford City, ND suppose the back and forth is gonna get boring. I have a big spool going to Houston I was going to take but my second best hands wife kicked him out last night and he needs a good long trip to clear his head as he's been a #### up all day today so in gonna let him go.

 

Probably they will. Enjoy Denver, wish I was there.
