I've found that some dealers aren't interested in investing in the tooling and tech training to handle the work. I've spent over half my career in dealers and the one I'm at now is legit the only one that invests in having a productive shop (knowledgeable techs, shop tooling, good technical support, regular training etc) and it shows. Majority of my coworkers have been there a decade or more.

 

I passed a good number of those monsters heading up to Nampa out of Kamloops last week. Both single and double trailers.

Mostly tridem out here from what I've seen. Manitoba doesn't recognize quad axle trailers (they JUST harmonized to 24,000 kg on three axles from 23,000) so it's probably nothing like the big operations out west.

Most Ontario places run quads or quints from what I've seen.

Its not a quad axle group they use, its a wagon with 2 sets of tandems.

Relative of mine owns a truck setup like this. About 14 years ago the mills pushed hard for short logs and wanted everyone to rig up like this.
