I must be doing something right if I had just about the same route planned as wore himself :D

Thinking Norman’s or JJs tomorrow night. Gotta go clean myself up in a sink somewhere. I should’ve showered before leaving Laredo. Got sand in my hair and the rest of me looks like I spent the day rolling in the dirt on a farm... :(

Hopefully the pretty waitress in this Chili’s won’t mind

From Belzoni, Ms today to Monticello, Ark I didn’t get behind any traffic except for a few grain haulers who were getting on down. That was 100 miles of me and my classic country radio friends and peaceful bliss. Then Monticello to Waldo was equally quiet, except for a little paving near Camden.
Tomorrow is over to Monticello, Arkansas then run South down to Monroe, La on the outskirts of town. Empty by 830 am if it all works and deadheading back and going home by 11.

You ever just wanna hop in someone’s truck and do the back for them? Good ####ing grief. Thank god I didn’t stray off to chili’s just yet. Would’ve came back to #### calarks bumper in my drivers seat.

Couldn’t hit a spot if it was the width of a football goal posts.

This is how I feel out Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa and the Dakotas way, on back roads. Especially with a clean shinny truck and some great music. I could just ride all day and night!!! 16F98BDF-7D9D-4C89-BF4E-42162AFFA630.png
When I first got my own truck I delivered part of a plastic pipe load in North Platte NE. Next delivery was in Dickinson ND. It was dark when I got to Scotsbluff and I was asking a bull hauller on the radio where to turn. I was runnin a little slow and offered to let him around but he wouldn’t take it. Started asking about where a good place to stop was? It was cold, pitch black and snowing just a bit. He could tell I was uncomfortable. Next thing I know there were a few trucks behind us. Bull hauller says “I’m coming around but you just stay right on my 6 and well be there in Dickinson in no time”!

So I got one in front of me and 3 behind me. They jabberin on the radio and won’t let me out of the chair. My truck only dose 70 and I kept asking them if they wanted around?

“Nope, you just keep it on the floor boy we are right here with ya.”

I’d been working all day starting in KS that morning but that drive from Scottsbluff to North Dakota (what 4 or 500 miles?) was the easiest drive of my life.

To this day I’m not sure if I dreamt that or it really happened but it is CLEAR in my mind!!!
