Not exactly a paradise I don’t reckon, but it is a great place to live as well as visit. Lot of history here. I hope in the next couple years to start a “Old Fashion Days” in a sense for a weekend during late September or early mid October.

At one time there was a Gristmill on the river in the 1800’s within a 1/2 mile of my home. There was also a pretty good sized Sawmill about town but still haven’t got enough info on where it stood exactly. In the days of steam power, logs were placed along the Guyan river and when the rivers would rise, steam boats would come from the Ohio River and work the logs down to the Ohio.

I’d like to get my uncles American Sawmill finished in the trailer, as well as get my sorghum mill going to add to this event. Be a lot of work but a lot of fun too, and hopefully educational for kids to actually see it work, not just read about it.

Heard from my Army friend today — enjoying his time. Haven’t talked to him since March.

    He is a 15T? UH-60 Helicopter Repairer

Or training to become one... wonder if Bear has any hookups for him?

Oh. One of those untrustworthy broken wing repair persons eh ?
Some of the Fixed Wing community of aviation might approve of the helicopter folks but I have my doubts personally. If they can't even get the wings fixed to stay in one place instead of flopping around on top of the aircraft, what kind of chance do they have of fixing anything else that goes wrong with the rest of the bird ?
    Seriously.

Maybe he could use some help from @1951 ford ? Hey Crispy, can you weld the wings in place so they quit flopping around on top of the helicopter ?

Yep. They couldn't see my brilliant vision of fixing the wings on the broken helicopters and we agreed to part ways.

Sadly, all their helicopters are still wildly out of control with the wings flopping around freely.

    Their loss.
