I'll probably get called on to help some more. I'll try to get some more better pictures. I really don't know about the top, or much about this '39 other than it was not quite a basket case when Dad got ahold of it. Previous owner had the bare bones sort of in a mock up state plus a pile of swap meet loot to complete the project some day. Then he caught cancer and needed to cash it out. Dad got it put together but from here it just seemed plagued with issues, mismatched/wrong parts, etc so I never seen it out of storage much.

He's not missing out on cruise nights, however. Re-living his youth these days in fact. This is him about 8 yrs ago posing next to the modern version of what he drove in high school. He's had that '34 since the late '90's if I recall. This was in a car club display at a World of Wheels event. It's been a runner since he got it.

I don't really have a favorite, but IMO this would probably represent ok..

Oak, Poplar, Hickory, Maple, and some Cherry. Those are the more prominent today.

We mill a lot of Maple and Poplar at the Heritage Farm Museum. We use a different power unit each year, this year was a Mc Cormick Deering.....

You will have to forgive me. I have no couth, no pride and no dignity. But the first time I heard someone talking about a drink being bold, with character, and really smooth, I thought the flit was talking about another guy. If it taste good, down the hatch it goes. If it doesn't, on the ground it goes.

That's from your middle age years, but we're gonna give you a pass on that one. Grading on a curve for you.
