We chased brake light issues on the dump truck for about 4 hours yesterday, and they still don't work. 2 weeks ago, I suggested putting 2 more lights back there and running a wire off the brake switch. My FIL wanted to try to track down the problem, which is fine. I really didn't want to add lights either, but was open to it. This week, we're running a wire and putting 2 lights on the back. I'll sort it out after I get it home next Sunday, if all goes well. I've got a wiring diagram and tracked the issue to the cab area. You know, the hardest spot to work on anything.:(
We put a new blower motor in it yesterday. In the process of removing the old one, we created 2 coolant leaks, between the firewall and the front of the cab. I could tighten 3 of the 4 clamps in there, but the 1 that was leaking the most is facing away from me. I'll have to disconnect the line and turn things around. There's 2 rubber molded 90* hoses there that we're going to replace, those are where it's leaking. They're very similar to the PITA bypass hose ford put on the 302 between the water pump and block.
It hasn't held it's air very long after you shut it off and we found that leak yesterday as well. I'll get a new air line when I go back out and replace that.
After those 3 items are taken care of, all that's left is to finish greasing it and drive it home.
There's other odds and ends to do, but I can work on them this winter.
