All I use is 409 household cleaner. It won't leave an oily film like armoural or any of those truckstop cleaners.

On vinyl and leather I put a quarter cup of lemon oil in a quart spray bottle and fill with water. Make sure you shake it every time before you spray it. Wipe it and let it set....then do it again. It'll make old dried up vinyl feel soft and supple like fine leather. Doesn't do anything for plastic.

You can get a set of detail brushes at Walmart to get in all the tight areas of the dash. Makes easy work of it.

I use an aerosol window cleaner for dusting (it's a ZEP product) with a cloth, then wipe on ArmorAll. Pulling apart the dash is the only option to get it truly clean, but depending on the truck, that might take a while. I'm lucky I've got an ergo dash, where you just pull the screws, the plate comes off, dust the edges, then put it back.

Think I probably passed you two up, I'm out past columbus.

@stwik I use a bucket with cleaner and a rag the i dry the floor and spray it with "eagle one" detailer in a black aerosol can...wear gloves and use good ventillation and let it dry on there...it well give you a high gloss shine for weeks.

You can buy it at AutoZone

I did this Pete not long ago KIMG0393.JPG

They don't do much for me, I drive in my socks and throw down towels to collect dust/fuzz and shake them out every day...

If you drive in boots or shoes get them, they have good fitment and would keep a floor in good shape.

Because I work for a mega that dumbs everything down for our lowest common denominator driver so that Pant Pisser can stay employed with us.

The actual reason they tote is it’s “easier.” Well ya, I guess it is, but the flexibility is what I want. No sliding fifth wheel and non of our flatbeds slide/dump. Our steps can go from spreads to tandems and vice versa— that’s it.

That’s why whenever someone posts on here about how great it would be to have a nonsliding 53 with a spread I literally cringe. You want WHAT? It might save you a penny as a owner but I tell ya what IT SUCKS. Learn to drive carefully and get a lift at the very least.

We have a nice overhang off the front. Probably 4’-5’ before you smack the headache rack. I’ve had loads where I need to put the product 2-3 feet off the front just to get that weight forward. Sucks but it’s easier, right? Then I’ve had other loads where I’m overweight on the drives. Well. ####. No scale on property so I’m gonna waste a 100 mile round trip with no extra pay so forklift bucaroo can slide all my #### five feet back? Plus I gotta untarp and retarp that’s a whole day gone right there... well that’s easier than not buying as sliding fifth wheels? who would’ve thunk.

Remember that load I had months ago outta Cali? No? I took all the #### outta my headache rack... probably 600-700 pounds worth a gear and chained it to the rear of my trailer. All because we can’t buy sliding fifth wheel. It’s easier though. Sure. Pants Pisser is still employed here.

The REAL reason their specced the way they are per one of our ambassador drivers — whose actually a really good friend of mine now. Knows his ####. Good guy just willing to help out. Is they specced them so we could haul 55’ beams up to Washington state for a huge contract we had a few years ago. Cough Boeing Cough.

Well why won’t they buy as sliding fifth wheels on our new trucks?

Because we hire ####### drivers who would get tickets :) It’s easier this way driver. That’s all we want you to do — drive.

Since our 660s in, what year 2009? I think. They’ve always been fixed. Our older T600s are the last trucks we had with slides.

That’s my little rant for the day.

I've never slid my fifth wheel pulling an open deck...my next truck won't have a slider.

And I wouldn't buy anything other than a fixed spread, spread at the back 53'.

    Dumps on both axles tho.
