I rode to South Carolina years ago and drove back a 85 model, ended up being my truck for a good while. Run 2 loads a week from Ashland, Ky to Wolf Brothers in Philadelphia delivering steel, grab a return load both times. $475 drivers pay each turn..... good money actually back then.

 

Shouldnt you be able to just put your top plate from your 15 on the 18 if your 15 had that pattern? We put a new rtlo18918b in our 93 a few years back, but used a top plate from an old rto12515 we had kicking around, made it high gear forward.

 

Love the truck but I’m more amazed by a 45 yr old grain hopper. Nice to not live in the rust belt

I wasn't sure with the 15 being on a 10 speed platform and the 18 being on a 9 speed platform.

I am sure now that I could have used my top plate since I know someone has done it
