    I know the feeling.

I usually just chuckle and give them the real rate

That was why i tried the wind deal...trying to book some “steady” freight.

We did get a little work back going to Cali because other carriers F’d It up one too many times but not sure it will last.

I am currently back on my flat deck but may have to go to Florida and retrieve my beam deck if I don’t see things picking up.

Years of working in shops and find your self making stuff you always had access to. I would advise against PVC. Can't get the cap to hold with thread tape on it.

Nothing moving back to Canada on flats for more than $1.50 per mile. Vans are $1.00. I'm frustrated, but I understand needing to make money. At this point I'm pretty much screwed for getting back for Sunday if something doesn't pop up in the next couple hours. At least the boss is calling me direct and keeping me up to date rather than leaving me in the dark, stewing in my frustration.

Sometimes trucking just sucks. We've all been in your shoes at one time or another.
Doesn't make it suck any less, but we feel your pain, brother!

Yep, the thing is, I'm not even mad. It's hot outside, the sun is shining and I've got WiFi and my laptop. So keeping myself sane isn't an issue. If I were stuck somewhere this long like Fort Nelson, BC that would be a different story, lol.

My biggest issue is my wife just doesn't understand why I'm sitting. "If there's freight, why aren't you moving?" I try to explain the revenue and profit stuff but she just sees me sitting and not being at home.

This ALWAYS seems to happen when I've got something planned for a specific day. Doesn't matter who I work for or what I'm doing. If I'm driving and *have* to be home by a certain time, *something* gets in the way. It's usually weather, since most of the mandatory family gatherings are in the fall/winter, but I'm patient to sit. My wife lacks patience, she even has a joke: "If I had any patience, I'd be a doctor!"

This time next year I'll probably be sitting somewhere else storm-stayed or broken down or something.

I'm patient enough to get through it, but the rest of my family (on both sides) isn't.

Well guess this is why we do preventative maintenance. Found a very tiny leak, not even showing on the gauge in 30 minutes but makes bubble. No problem right? It has a 10 year warranty right? Well yes and they can have me a new one after the first of the year or give me a stock oem one now. We are gonna put it back in and order and different brand. I have said it before, and this is the last part of theirs. Detroit Radiator can lick my left hangy down part.
