Odd. Is there a adapter plate that mounts on the front of comp. Bout 3/4 inch thick. It fits between comp and spacerplate.

I was in a hurry (stupid, I know) and ground a side flat, just enough off the edge of the stud to get it past the idler gear, about 1/8".
That was the one I was installing to replace the one that broke my oil pump. Luckily this one didn't do that kind of damage, it just leaks like crazy.1951 ford, PoleCrusher, Tall Mike and 15 others Thank this. -
