Road King 56 used to be the best when Telex/Turner made them. Bar Jan bought them out several years ago and the quality went downhill.SAR, Crusader66, 4mer trucker and 8 others Thank this.

So do I. Not many places I can go anymore where I can ask for a plain burger without getting the 1000 yard stare.SAR, Crusader66, 4mer trucker and 5 others Thank this.

Ok let me ask you this, you seem too be knowledgeable about CB’s. For years I had a 29 WX NW XT, it was a great radio. My truck rides like a log wagon and it’s hard on electronics, right now I have a Roadking I bought on sale in a pinch. So far it’s been good. My question is what to you recommend for just a good radio? I don’t care about taking for miles I just want to know when I key it up it’ll work. I thought about a Uniden PC78.SAR, Crusader66, 4mer trucker and 3 others Thank this.

Suns shining now....Maybe it'll dry up by the time mama gets home from work so she can finish it. I need to do some spraying.

In my opinion, and everyone has one when it comes to radios, the Cobra 29 Classic cannot be beat for bang for buck. They’re just as tough as any, sound good with a good mic, and when Loves has em on sale you can get a new one for $99 plus a $20 rebate (that’ll take them 3 or 4 months to send you), so for $79 you got a good radio and if something ever happens to it you’re not out a lot.
Just please do everyone a favor and don’t use the stock mic. Lol.
You can leave it stock or you can have it modified. Just don’t let em clip the limiter or you’ll bleed over several channels either side of the one you’re tryin to talk on.SAR, Crusader66, Oxbow and 7 others Thank this. -
That's what I'm running now....the old realistic that was in the truck when I bought it from Leroy quit transmitting on 10....I could talk and 19...and 14 to the scale house...but loading out of a stationary spout and not being able to talk the the loader on 10 became a problem. That radio is probably older then several on here....So I put in the galaxy from the other truck and it quit transmitting all together.SAR, Crusader66, Oxbow and 6 others Thank this.
