I figure haulin all these peanuts is pretty fitting considering the circus I've been running lately.

 

@superhauler and I just had that discussion yesterday setting In front of my home. I truly enjoy setting on the elevated porch and just enjoy the birds and squirrels in the yard. Sometimes it’s good to disconnect......

For the rest of the week.

Today is the brides birthday. I’m putting on a show but have a surprise birthday party planed for Saturday afternoon. Hopefully at least 50 people show up?

Tomarow it truck cleaning day. Hit the road again on Monday.

 

You ever been in the middle of doing nothing and the misses ask "what you doing"? To I reply nothing. Then she proceeds to ask 9 million questions to what nothing entailes? Nothing simple as that. Nothing.

 

James, that’s code for “get off your ###! There’s things on your honey do list that ain’t been done yet. Sweetie.”

 

Lol I know. But some people dont understand nothing.

 

hmph. Note to self. Get a long long handle broom or something to push peanuts. Around with in order to get the tarp over them.

 

people may think I'm weird or something but i just think it's entirely true... at the end of the day we're all technologically connected hunters and gatherers.... putting our full attention into phones, screens, work, whatever all day long probably isn't the greatest thing in the world for a person that used to hunt for food, walk distance daily, and basically live off the land surrounding their home...

i'd imagine it's pretty awful for our souls. i do a lot of hiking/running at home and after doing it i feel great. might listen to nothing but my head, or maybe i'll bring along a podcast and listen to that for 2-3 hours, but at the end of the day the nature is what puts me at ease... every time I'm out in @sawmill or @Oxbow country it's hard not to stop at a rest area along a grade and just.... ponder. stare out there. you won't get the satisfaction of climbing the hill or even the mountain yourself but it may just be enough to put some perspective into your head for the day. we're all small people on a giant rock floating through a world that i don't think we can even begin to understand. the scale of nature is enormous....

everytime i watch shows about the last frontier in alaska and the people living there.... i feel like "yeah, you know, with some serious training and guidance, I could do that. I'd be HAPPY living like that." not so much in a sense that I want to do it now... but it starts a fire inside of me in a way...


eh. i'll put the moonshine down. i'm an idiot truck driver, right?

 

I agree 100%. Been quite a few times its crossed my mind that living like that would be better than this. Also I feel like I'd like the solidarity
