I'm not really that kinda guy. I've actually point blank turned down women who just wanted to hook up. I know, I know, I'm a total chick :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

I’m not trying to be right, I’m just annoyed that people are arm chair quarterbacking when he asked a legitimate question. He said it’s his second load and he specifically said he was trying to figure it out. We all hauled our first load and we all hauled out second. We’ve all misjudged a load (at least I have) and had to learn from it. Seems to me he’s asking questions, there’s no indication he’s cutting rates or boot legging nor any evidence that he’s overloading his trailer. Seems to me as “men” we should try to help him. Remember the way you treat someone who can’t do anything for you says a lot.

The original reason it even came up was because Fluffy was in there passing along his wisdom.

I just speculated that the whole thread was suspect.

Can you imagine if you came on here with a legitimate question and the only advice you could get was from Fluffy?

    OMG!!!

Which is probably why he came here to ask for advice. Could be he's one that shows up at the shipper with the knowledge and equipment to do the job, rather than take the "I'll just figure it out as I go", approach. Using drivers who already have the know how as a resource is a positive imo.

Of course it's all speculation from this side.

And if you HH guys think the rate cutting is bad over there, try pulling regular open deck freight. It's insane what's happening with rates.

I was at a shipper a couple weeks ago and the topic of conversation in the office was cheap trucks. The shipping manager at the plant was talking about dealing with guys who show up without the proper equipment or knowledge, and trying to explain to his boss at corporate that you get what you pay for. And this is really simple stuff, like ratchet binders and shackles. The guy was frustrated cause he had turned away 2 trucks already for a load and was looking for a third.

And I'm seeing it more and more often, guys showing up to load that have no idea what they're doing. Being new and learning is understandable, but being completely clueless as to even the basics?

they shot the elk at 5pm. It took them until 3 am to gut it and you keep the head, pack all in coolers and hike back to camp. They (after 2 days sitting) made the smart choice of leaving. There was 30” of snow, ( after 3 weather predictions of 1-2”) high winds, and a 5 mile hike to safety. This was their first time hunting out west. It’s flat here with the very most 12” of snow. They came out of the woods 2 days early with plenty of meat for everyone. Family was happy they were all safe
