I see it like it’s possible, but offers no advantages for what I do. It’d be fine for a lot of what I do, certainly make some aspects a pain in the ###; but be no good for plenty of things and I’d expect have a poorer resale when it comes to it. Especially in this area of the country.
I keep thinking like, if I get to a customer to load and can get it all on the truck, I’ll leave the wagon at the yard. But it’s not really cheaper to run a ten wheeler overall than it is a tractor trailer setup in my experience. What is saved on maintenance (of the trailer, which wouldn’t really be a savings on a setup like that one) and tolls and fuel, is mostly negated by insurance cost, which is notably higher for straight trucks, least when I had one, and scheduling.
You can drop a trailer at a shipper, you are either parking a truck at a shipper or live loading,
Additionally, from my understanding, you can use a pin setup on a air can to pin the wheel on a trailer like that for backing (using it like a long spread axle) except you aren’t sposed to do it loaded with 24k on the deck. So that rules out a bunch of places I end up backing into or out of now because there’s no room to turn around.
I can’t justify spending money on something that would be harder to load, operate, and keep busy; when I could spend that money on something that would make me more money in and of itself. -
I hear ya
The only folks I’ve seen using that setup is hay haulers out west -
I'd be on my way if I could. Of course you'd have to give instructions step by step.

I know you did, but with the link, it's like you putting a glass of cold pee on the table and telling me it taste just like Old Milwaukee. I would probably take a sip just so I could agree with you.cke, blairandgretchen, 7-UP and 16 others Thank this.
