    Mom had 2 of those thick yard sitcks that were like a 2×6. Till me and younger brother hid them. Smacked the taste out of are mouth. We found them very quick.

    Hard lesson to teach real young guys. The gear is to good and easy to get in to deep with the higher temps that most fires are now.

    Fabricated floor joist and laminated beams are large cause of death to fire fighters. Hard lumber burns slower. Plus the houses are full of plastics.

    They hadn't started using horses yet, it must of been on the side of the pond. Just out of sight of the first bucket man in line.
