Stemco grit guard needs sealant under wear ring and on seal before you drive it it. The blue is only paint.
I love stemco. But have seen a clearance issue on some steer applications and use a CR. The green on cr is sealant. 99% of the time on drives and trailers I prefer to use the stemco. I have seen them last till they rusted out.

Thanks Pushbroom. Guys have been hammering on shops here, and with some justification. I take things to shops that I know, and have all of the service managers personal cell phone numbers. They treat me real well and have been willing to help me on occasion via phone after hours or on weekends.
