@singlescrewshaker
There was some Bakers out of Oberlin Ohio. Jay and his dad when I was a kid, ran a bunch of C70 chevys single axle and a pusher. 427 5x2 with I think aluminum trailers. Even had some hollow tube steer axles. They were light. Buzzed around Pittsburge, Cleveland to Detroit non stop. I guess they were slow to wind up. But over 55 on the the turnpike, they left a diesel setting still. Downside was a 427 tall deck lasted 100k miles and you can run 90k gross on Ohio turnpike or more if you can get it on.Al. Roper, 1951 ford, 4mer trucker and 12 others Thank this. -

I only have one. I think it is the greatest thing a person will ever do in your life.
I would have like to had more sooner. But it wouldn't have been with my wife.
So I'm thankful of that. -
Spent all day in Yuma getting loaded. Nap time in Eloy.

That so cool. Makes me wish there was a time machine I could jump in, go back & see the way men really got the job done..
I'd like to think a 427 Chevy scream'n down the pike @90k lb gross sounds sweeeeeeet!!
