I'd probably get one of these torque multipliers if I had to take them off by hand.

The riveted ironwork is my favorite. Did you weld the corner caps underneath, or are the rivets holding it together?

Welded underneath. Gussets and rivets are strictly for looks.
I do use them to hold the wood tops in on some pieces, like these elevated dog feeders:
