Truth be known, it’s the “Dukes of Detroit” since they all 3 took off on foot....

 

Daily.

Ran into that once or twice myself. Usually the shop lead where I used to work (who was an idiot).

I'd just toss him under the bus repeatedly: "Replace X part as per bosses diagnosis, did not remedy complaint"

"Well you said it needed a fuel pump, I assumed that to mean you diagnosed it already"


Just to clarify, it was a company shop with company equipment. I wouldn't do that to a paying customer.

 

Well, got the Christmas parade tonight and there’s plenty left that I need to get done.

Now where did I put that Christmas tree made from “stuff” laying in my shop.......

Yep lol!!! The shop foreman where dad retired was a real winner!! Thought he was a mechanic but couldn’t put a cob handle on a file! Eventually dad started hanging him out to dry just as you did.

And you gotta love the driver that doesn’t know a crescent from a combination wrench, but wants to stand there telling you what is wrong and how to fix it.......

 

Sad thing is that gem is one of the few guys left there. They ran all the good guys off. Guess he has a way with the golden kneepads.
