    Heater valve. Means of stopping your coolant from circulating when you are using your A/C.

    That’s what I always knew them as. I don’t hardly use mine, I use the valves out on the engine. Sometimes they will bypass internally and keep the heater core warm, really effects the a/c!! Probably behoove you to look on the engine and turn the main valves off if so equipped...? If not that’s a lot of antifreeze to deal with when you pull it apart. I have pinched the lines before with visegrips and a couple pieces of wood.

    I know right..? You do realize you work for tips lady..? I'm the type who will leave a $20 on a $13 tab most time if you at least get me a drink refill, or ask if the food is ok, or if I needed anything else. Like I'm inconveniencing her or something. You're at work lady, act like it & stop yapping on the phone!!!

    Yup, its gonna be a mess alright. Unfortunately I do not have valves under the hood to close off the flow to the heater core. Visegrips & wood will have to do. Maybe during this project would be a good time to add them in..

    Only has gate valves on either side of the coolant filter.
    I've also heard quarter turn is preferred over gate. Is this true..? Like to add on the best kind I can..

    @singlescrewshaker

    Oldskooler got you. Sorry I was vertical. And yes adding valves will actually help A/C in the summer.
