That’s what I always knew them as. I don’t hardly use mine, I use the valves out on the engine. Sometimes they will bypass internally and keep the heater core warm, really effects the a/c!! Probably behoove you to look on the engine and turn the main valves off if so equipped...? If not that’s a lot of antifreeze to deal with when you pull it apart. Only has gate valves on either side of the coolant filter.
I've also heard quarter turn is preferred over gate. Is this true..? Like to add on the best kind I can..Last edited: Jan 29, 2020
