He's a very nice guy. I'm sure what he talked about and the places he's been rings a bell to you. Hell, we've prolly been around each other on the harvest run, either at the elevators or bars and didn't know it!
I'm sure it makes your job more enjoyable when you can go somewhere and have something in common to talk about. It makes the day go by quicker and better.
That's why I like living around here, bunch of nice people you run into.

Sounds like my family. My grandfather had a vehicle I really wanted and had told him a few years prior that if he were to ever sell it, I would like to buy it. Life happens and we're selling off my grandparent's estate. The whole family knew I wanted to buy the truck (buy, not inherit). Told the executor that I'll pay fair market value for it. She brings over a few guys to appraise it. Little did I know they were there to buy it. After the other folks said what they'd pay for it, she turns from them to me and tells me (right in front of them) that if I want it, I'd have to match their offer.
I walked away. Bunch of stuff went down that month and I pretty much no longer associate with about 90% of my family now. Family isn't a nice word in my vocab. More like "blood relatives that'll #### ya over for a dime"cke, Slowpoke KW, singlescrewshaker and 9 others Thank this. -
I took soybean seed up to Roseau, MN a month or so ago. The guy that unloaded me was from Denmark. I mentioned running into a lot of guys from overseas on the harvest run. Turns out he worked for Greg Thurman Harvesting at one time. I told him I knew Greg, and that we bought one of Greg's service trucks from him back in 06 or 07. I said I went down with another hand to Burlington and picked it up and handed Greg the check myself.
Oh, I remember that, he says, that was me in the yard with Greg when you picked it up.
I thought that was pretty cool. Small, small world.cke, Eldiablo, Slowpoke KW and 6 others Thank this. -
