My limit knowledge on it is it totally varies by state. Some you can permit a 5 axle for up to 112k lbs. Some will give 46k on a tandem, some 45k, others 40k.

Most will give 60k (permitted) for a tridem. With the right spacing I dont see why you couldn't get 52k with a 12k pusher..?

Really, my opinion is to check the state laws for the jurisdictions you need to be heavy. They, or a permit service can probably help, with the axle spacing, & inner/outer bridge law requirements..

Also I know it's a different post, but if you're adding axles to an existing tractor, there is some process to re certified the rig so the door tag show a higher gross weight. A local upfitter shop probably knows the process well for your home state..

I think they were accidentally misrepresenting what they're selling..

Double drops are side load, overhead load. They are lighter tare weight. Really only good in my eyes for tall freight, stone slabs, glass, crap like that..

Mechanical or hydraulic, if it detaches I believe it's an rgn..

    Yeah. Screenshot_20200201-190622_Chrome.jpg

That last part is the biggest thing I was wondering. How adding axles would increase capacity and reflect that on the legal side of it.

Yep, I'll be looking into that probably at some point if I keep my shaker. A pusher, or twin screw cutoff, either way my truck is originally a single so the door only shows 32k gvwr..

The shop that did my stretch I'd think knows how to get it done as they build lots of mixers & dump trucks with added axles. If you still haven't found out, I'm trying to get home by the 6th. I drop by there & see what I can find out for ya.. :)

LoL, possibly. Had the wind at my back for the 1st time in 2 weeks!!
I was just mosey'n along at about 63 in the 70-75 mph zones..
    Only did about 100 miles.

I try & get a motel for Sat, Sun night & get my 34 reset. My bunk starts feeling really small after about 5 nights.. Watching the cowboy pictures (as grandpa used to call em) on INSP right now.. :D

    I can’t do that. I’d feel like too much of a horse’s ###
    for holding up traffic.

Last weekend I had to take a small road trip to VA, and did better as far as fuel economy is concerned running US-340 instead of I-81.
