WTF? I get a preload trailer so I'm cleaning up the 5th wheel and I don't understand why I have the big shiny spot. I don't disconnect and grease it, only when I swap. Is this wrong?

 

IT LIVES!!!!! Just gotta set the bias on the new tubes after I get the missing preamp tube and we're ready to rock!

 

How old is that ? Since it uses tubes. Or is that the norm ?

 

Tube amps are very common. I bought this one new about 10 years ago. There are solid-state amps on the market but IMO they just don't have that "warmth" you get from a tube. I did good with this one as those were the original tubes in it. Most folks get 1-3 years out of tubes. I was contemplating changing them last year because it just wasn't sounding as crisp as usual. Then this morning the 2 on the right lit up like a torch inside the glass lol.

 

Just throw some more grease on there. Spread it around really good.

Seems weird that a brand new 5th wheel has a high spot... 60k miles.
It's had a pair of spots on 1 side that show rust but I've been ignoring it lol. Not my truck so only just so much concern I can give it....

 

Got some chicken wings that have been marinating in ginger beer and spices all day. Just simmering away now. Hope they turn out good.
