most days in a 379 w/Cat power best I did was 5 or low 5’s..

that was left lane trucking staying right with it not mega fleet stuff.

Don't exact specs on what the pump guy did but he did say the stock supply pump won't be enough

 

I get about the same low 5 in the left lane and maybe 6 in the right lane with a midroof 379 and 550 E model. Just curious if the same old driveline and lead foot wouldnt get about the same mileage with a sleeker aero body.

 

I had a 1999 FLD with a 500hp Detroit, straight 10sp, 22.5 low pros and 2.64 rears. That truck would get 8+ mpg running 60 to 65, didn't matter what you threw at it. Only thing it asked for was a gallon of oil every week.

took me a whopping 1 hour to untarp and roll, almost 2 hours to from arrival to sending my “what’s next” phone call to dispatch.

now I get to twiddle my thumbs and wait for the office folk to find something... history states there’s a 100% chance I’ll be at headquarters tonight though

 

set back or set forward they are so far beyond ugly that they almost come back around to being desireable, in an ole skool kind of way. Almost.

I can say that because I have the SD version, and it's even uglier, if that's possible. Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking when I wrote the check for it........

One of the most durable, trouble free trucks on the road though. IMO. (If you're hauling 80k or less)
