Oh, I probably just need a Snickers bar, I've been sitting inside this building for 8 hours in 100* heat with no food or drinks, I get to be miserable when I don't eat.

Hey @wore out, what kind of money is in pulling a grain hopper? Is it seasonal or fairly consistent? What regions tend to have the greater amount of loads moving (prairies I'm guessing)?

I will be honest rates are in the tank. Pet food by products are still ok but they come at a price if that makes since. Hauling out of the field is my bread and butter. Wheat in a couple weeks at home, then corn in Corpus Christi, then ol miss. Used to grain was all I done. But it's got harder seems lots of folks see our rides and say huh that's easy lol. With wash outs and the time pet food places hole you up its a tough sell. But it can be done.
I'm too old to change and too dumb to retrain. So Im hold n on for better timesOLDSKOOLERnWV, Tug Toy, ShooterK2 and 15 others Thank this. -
Just remember you’re being so much safer this week because you’re racing out your available driving hours and your 70 against bottlenecking traffic, fuel stops, and your load checks. Remember, you are the safe professional driver!! All these owner operators in here with their paper log books are dinosaurs and they all cheat their logs!!OLDSKOOLERnWV, Tug Toy, ShooterK2 and 9 others Thank this.

Thanks. I'm just playing around with ideas in my head right now. Just need an idea about what its like.
Haha, I'm racing the piss poor HOS regulations, not the elogs. They aren't the problem. Being limited to 70 hours and 64 mph is.
But hey, I told them before I left that 3200 miles in a 64 mph truck was going to be tight before I left. Then they moved the shipper 200 miles further south, and the receiver 200 miles further north.
If I make it, I think I get bragging rights. I checked my logs for this week earlier. I had maybe 20 minutes of time that I could have shaved of for on - duty if I got creative with editing.
I'm doing the best with what I've got. My main problem is being given insufficient equipment to complete the task given to me in the time they expected.
I have no other complaints, this trip has been wonderful.OLDSKOOLERnWV, Tug Toy, 4mer trucker and 7 others Thank this. -
