Been busy with stuff. Got it all squared away for the moment. Just purchased a new to me PC of equipment.....2013 50 ton extendable lowboy. Got work that I've been putting off that requires an extendable. Finally pulled the trigger. Now I got to bobtail to Colorado to get it ! Or maybe I'll just hire a towaway to deliver it.

 

So im looking at nucor in armorel arkansas. The whole town is odd.. Like an industrial labor camp hidden in a big bean field next to a big river, one miles long row of manufacturers elbow to elbow . Theres more flats then ive ever seen on one road. And the strangest thing is, there is not a SINGLE load within 50 miles going anywhere in the US on DAT. Yet another truck comes out every 5 mins.

What is this like the super top secret locked up flat freight capital of the US?

I've pulled out of prospect a couple times. I figure anything that gets posted gets snatched up quick.

 

Lots of local carriers around there. Them and the mega flatbed companies have that sewed up. I used to haul out of there years ago, but the rates any more are just not good. Even the rates on the 60 ft stuff suck.

 

Back last year when I pulled out of there for commiefornia a regular 48 load was in the 4800-5k range

 

Well we're bound for NY. Probably park at Walcott tonight...
