Going technical on y'all...per a microbiologist- the truly scary stuff is all over it before it even hits the floor... So you might as well be brave and eat it.
Unless the floor in question is obviously nasty of course.

You could ceviche the shrimp, shaved onion, dice a cucumber.

Steam the rice and crack a raw egg into it and stir. Add the shrimp mix and top with sesame oil and soy to taste.

For sure. It's been proven itd need to remain on the floor for multiple minutes in order to whatever might be on the floor to get to it other than what you can visibly see

I was so disappointed... Grew up on cream of wheat, like mashed potatoes, seemed like grits would be a fine additional to my options...
Until I tried them lol. I. Just. Can't.

probably not been made right. Honestly, when I was a kid I couldn't eat them. But in Port Orange, FL there is a seafood place called Aunt Catfish, that has these two big vats of grits and baked beans. That's how I first found I liked them. Nice base of cheese grits on he bottom, with some nice baked beans on top. Might sound strange but they really do complement each other. So what you need is some gourmet grits. With some nice cheeses. I usually do a 3 cheese blend. But some times I'll go for some nice gourmet white cheese blend. Something that will enhance the flavor even more. Then a nice topping of shrimp that has been sauted with bacon and onions, etc. Mmmmm perfection.
