Where is everyone #5

This is the way I look at it. Heavyhaul fuel mileage is way down the list of things I factor. If your worried bout fuel mileage in heavyhaul you ain't quoting enough to haul it in the first place !! I've hauled 5 loads since the first of the year. Sitting for two half weeks....am I worried bout the $$$ ?? NOPE ! learn long time ago not to run for low rate. I have made more than if i ran like some of these heavy haulers are running for ! Is the market changing ? It always is. You deal with it ! Now....let's talk bout Horse Power. I run a modified engine. Horse power is way north of 700 hp. I can run around my buddies with stock engines all day long an average the same mpg as they do....sometimes a little more. This engine has never left me stranded. Back when I had my other truck pushing over 1000 hp I had issues all the time. You have to find a setup that works for you. Do I need 1000 hp ? NO, do I want 1000 hp ? .....yep who doesn't? I lean to the high hp side. Always will ! You have to find that common ground that works for you.

I am in touch with him a few times a week. He and the short one are doing ok - Old Red is still running ok and they are doing their thing. They been running some to Texas and his normal northeast BS that no one in their right mind would do...

you would get better fuel mileage if you weren’t running circles around your lower horsepower guys - they only pay you for the miles from here to there - not the circles

think and older fellow such as yourself would know that by now

I imagine so, But we all have that buddy that drives balls out everywhere, let's his tractor or pickup sit and idle for 3 hours while drinking coffee and shooting the sheet. Then complains about fuel economy and price of injectors. Job is a job and that's what it takes to due the job. But no point in being stupid and making it worse right? We are trying to keep money.
