URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Denver CO
939 AM MDT Thu Mar 19 2020
...HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS TO IMPACT NORTH-CENTRAL AND
NORTHEAST COLORADO THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY MORNING...
..A storm system moving over Colorado will bring moderate to heavy
snowfall to the mountains this morning, then spreading over the
plains changing rain over to heavy snow this morning and into the
early afternoon. Winds gusting up to 55 mph across the plains
will create hazardous travel conditions especially this afternoon
and evening. The strongest winds will occur just east of I-25,
while the heaviest snow may occur in and near the Front Range
Foothills and Palmer Divide. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per
hour are possible. Precipitation beginning as rain and low
confidence in temperatures are leading to lower confidence in the
total snow amounts. However confidence in the significant impact
of the snow and strong wind is high.
Stay tuned to the National Weather Service for the latest updates
regarding this storm.

...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM MDT FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations
of 3 to 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado.
* WHEN...From noon today to 6 AM MDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on snow and slush covered roads. Blowing snow
will significantly reduce visibility. The combination of
treacherous road conditions and poor visibility will result in
difficult to impossible travel. The hazardous conditions will
impact the evening commute. Strong winds and heavy snow could
cause power line and tree damage.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must
travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded,
stay with your vehicle.
The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
