Yes, new spring and spool and just make sure the new one doesn't stick. If housing is good. Gears aren't worn or (sharp on edge) pitted ?

 

Leave pan off till the end. You might thank me later.

 

I've got a little lube pump I was going to prime the whole engine with and verify oil flow to all bearings and jets before putting the pan on for good. Just wanted to get the pan out of my hair for now by putting it on with 4 bolts and no gasket.


The old spool believe it or not slides smooth as silk. I'm still going to replace it. Gear teeth look great. Some still have the hobb marks on them lol. Gonna re-bushing the end plates while I'm at it. The bushings the gear shafts ride in.

 

Looking realistically this engine might see 1000-1500 hours worth of light use the rest of its life.

 

These fuel prices are nuts...

 

Most normally I try to fuel up here at home. It's most of the time .40 cents cheaper than out near interstates. County commissioners and city mayor filed a complaint on price gouging.

 

Must be nice to not have made-up taxes on your fuel.......

But hey at least the carbon tax is making the weather better
