    Don't discount the 5.0L

    Its been pretty good so far. I averaged 22.4 MPG over 750 miles yesterday (going off the computer). Its making about 85 hp and 80 lb-ft more than GM's old 4.8L V8.

    Yea im looking at 5.0s hard if i can find a slightly used one with the right specs

    Starting with XLT i believe with tow pkg you get 3.73s and Electronic full locking rear diff

    Mine's an XLT with the tow package and 3.55s. Rated 9,600 lbs for towing. More with 3.73s. Mine has the locking diff too.

    You wanna feel real bad. Had a 89 chevy caprice 305 tbi that got 25 mpg on the highway. With alot more iron in it than a taco.
