So question for you plowboys.. I planted a few soybeans in my patch and theyre moving pretty slow. My snap peas are knee high and the soybeans are 3 inches. Very fertile, tilled organic compost beds. No fertilizer. What do soybeans want? Im missing something. Potatoes onions radish etc are doing well in same beds.

I think soybeans want more heat than peas. By snap peas you mean sugar snap peas right? Like English garden peas that never fatten up... they're fine in early cold weather but iirc the soybean is a warmer temperature critter...

    That’s the trick. It’s a picture, not a video.

That’s like when someone draws a dot on a piece of paper and writes the words “do not push this button”. :biggrin_25523:

I've never grown soybeans so....if everything else is growing just have patience. Lentils are slow growing too. It's a pulse crop like soybeans.

Well summer is here. 81° at 11am, and 66° in the shop.

Have a great day folks, and a big thank you to all of you that have served or family members who has served. Wish I could shake ever last ones hand.

I think they were sugar snaps.. I dont remember. I plant different stuff each year and just continue with the winners the following year.

I think i need to transplant those little soybeans over to a full sun spot. I moved a shed this winter and it shaded more than i expected. Slowly converting the shady crib to lettuce and such.

If your intent is to eat the soybeans I'd plant some new ones and only transplant part of the slow ones. Lots of plants get mad if you disturb the roots. I've never moved legumes so I don't have any guess how it would go. So you can conduct an experiment!! For the benefit of all. And report back.
But if you are mainly looking to up your soil nitrogen in that area I'd never mind it and just watch. They'll likely get full size before frost because you already have big snap peas so you live in a zone 5 or 6? I'm zone 3A..... when I get to go back and live at my house this is the weekend we put stuff in. Peas would have gone in about 4 to 6 weeks ago depending on rain but they sure wouldn't be knee high lol
