I loved it. It is so much quieter in the cab then the 4940 I run. It has more power, a new well designed cab and took me awhile to get familiar with the new display, buttons, and different shaped hydro handle.
Once I got all that figured out I went and sprayed about 500 acres and was pleased how the booms did. They do bounce around some, especially the very end breakaway boom. Other then that they are very light and it didn't take me long getting used to the extra 12 feet.
It will be interesting to see if they hold up over the years of abuse and you're right if you hit something it will break. You can't just fold up and go home and weld on it. Supposedly they have a patch kit that you can repair and be up and running in a day.
We did trade our sprayer in for one of these next year, so I wanted to try this for a day to get somewhat familiar with it so when the new one comes next spring I'm not panicking to figure it out.
The carbon fiber booms have a higher strength then steel or aluminum. The claim that the 132' carbon fiber is 35% lighter then the 120' steel boom they have. They do bounce around out there in rough fields but they should be able to handle it. Another good thing about them is they are corrosion resistant and have a simpler design to clean and maintain.
I was able to keep the booms from nose diving into the ground so I did okay there. No broken tips! I do however keep them handy in my other sprayer cause it does happen.
