Wish I had drove this one home at times. A model with a 70” flat top, mostly for a toy though.....

I made a list with pen and paper before I even started looking for a truck.

    1 no international
    2 must be a 13 spd
    3 no ISX
4 must be a mid roof

    Well 3 out of 4 ain’t bad?

Point is, if I could of got a long nose Pete or K dub for $10k or even $20k more than the $13k I paid with the above criteria I would of been money ahead. Problem is, in the same shape as what I got they were going for $30k or $40k more than what I paid. That was before the ELD ruling.

So in the end I’ll stick with the one that said yes to the prom. She has treated me well and has a big enough bunk to be comfortable. I couldn’t do a tiny little bunk. I just try and keep her neat and tidy.

She ain’t no long nose Pete though.

What I really wanted was a flat dash t800 but that’s a pipe dream. I have a feeling I wouldn’t fit in the cab anymore.

After reading Double Yellow's thread, and watching rebuilds on youtube, I was pretty set on a 94-99 12.7, 13 speed 379. I got my 13 speed at least? My 11'11" garage door clearance ruled out a lot of nice condo Freightliners.

Frieghtliner Mid Roof Conversion with Builtin Liner | Products | Talladega Fiberglass

You may already be aware these exist? An Amigo of mine just recently showed me them..

I hate them stinking condo's. Again I'd be paying someone to perform the conversion, I ain't cutting off a roof!! But yes, lots of pretty nice trucks out there could benefit tremendously with these..

I'm no giant at 6'3" 185lb, but I'm a flat top guy all the way. Sure wouldn't mind a slightly larger flat top than I have now, but with the restaurant's opening back up, I'll probably stop caring again. Eating all them styrofoam meals at the wheel was starting to suck. Heck, a little bunk is really just for napping, not being cooped up that long..

Haven't seen a roof cap flat top conversion yet, but might be possible with enough $..
