Same for the dog part, which is why Weasel is an emerging leader in first names of my contacts lol. In my short time doing this, I've noticed a trend that the ones that volunteer that they'll pay you ____ if ____ are flat out liars that have no intention of paying you anything. Also if they misrepresent the load, you can bet there's a good chance they'll be a volunteer too.

LS is so huge, it's hard to write off the brokerage entirely. The biggest problem is when you take a load from Joe, who is 2 cubicles from Sam, who actually has the load. You're going to lose a few hundred bucks off the bat over what Sam would pay, and in your case, it sounds like Sam never told Joe that the load wasn't going to go, if Joe even cared lol.

 

Id say it is a stretch to get paid tonu... ive havent gotton paid for 2 of them last year. Had 2 others that i got paid on

 

Really? I've got tonu paid without even leaving the house once! This is my 1st issue on it..

I've been burned on one $700 partial in 2015 I shouldn't have taken it the 1st place.. Was using a dispatch at the time. They neglected to tell me it was a COD load. One of the jobs I had to make a hand written BOL for.. Then they had the balls to try & collect the 7% dispatch fee from me, after admitting they forgot it was COD in an email!! We parted ways after that one..

 

So am I just SOL?

Is there a proper recourse that I'm missing.?

Other than slink off with my tail between my legs like a beaten dog!! This option I don't like at all..

Make an invoice & just write it off as a loss against my taxes.?

There should be something I can do..?

 

Few ideas.

First
It's not your dog, dont look at it that way. The cat has little value.

Second
They are right about calling Corp. But if it's a independent agency they most likely tell you to pound sand.

Third
File right away even if you dont have a good case. Sometimes the threat gets the ball rolling. If not 50.00 and file in small claims court.

Forth
Walk in and set a pistol on thier desk and tell them you came to discuss in person.

Fifth
Stay quiet till you get another load of theirs on your wagon. Take a long weekend and dont answer phone. Then demand a com check on a Tuesday.

 

I have got to remember DO NOT take lumber loads out of E Tx. There's a 50/50 chance they're tarp loads and they dont pay awesome. Id have rather sat in Houston till tomorrow.

The main issues is these gd shippers wont let you get on your own trailer anymore to tarp. You have to use their #### tastic overhead tarp crane, which is about impossible to get the tarps to go on straight and getting them tight front to back is not happening. So now my tarps look like @farmerjohn64 did the tarping, lol.

Oh and the dang load doesnt even deliver till Wed morning in Saginaw (FTW area). So Im doing my break here in Diboll, Tx and I'll roll early in the morning.

4- Brandish or potentially wack said broker! Well maybe this I can get away with..

5- Conversion/tort. I thought you could only hold freight hostage for shipping charges unpaid against the current load I'm under.!?

2-Call corporate & hope for the best..

3-Small claims. I actually like this. Seems like I can cause them quite a headache over a measly few hundred bucks. Sounds like fun..!
