I'm still on down time for just a few more days. I've been watching a lot of TV episodes on you tube, Netflix, Amazon prime etc. Many well known tv shows are fresh for me because even though they've been around for a while, I've only seen a few because of the job we do.
For a while I was binge watching Criminal Minds. I had to lay off because I was having trouble sleeping. No surprise. Today, I sank into a marathon of an old favorite. The Streets of San Francisco. I was a young teenager when it was first run. I used to watch it every week. I see it again and find that many of the themes and story lines, as well as many words in the dialogue were over my head at the time. It's good to watch such shows now with a better understanding
Also, the fine, fine acting of the stars. Karl Malden was fantastic. Michael Douglas had a big steak to chew on as a young actor. He was in the shadow of his legendary father. Watching Streets, we can see that he was hard at work being his own man. I've never particularly liked him, but I have to admire him.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to see these, and so many other fine works of film and television. As well as valuable information on current events, literature, history, and public figures. The young generation might think that it's no big deal. But us older folks can't take the internet for granted.cke, whoopNride, Tug Toy and 7 others Thank this. -
