Grew up riding in a stub nose transtar....

Speaking of that, on the way home from Cleveland today I passed several old cabovers rolling north on 71. An old Transtar II, a couple ooold Fords and a Pete. Wish I knew where they were headed.

 

I don't remember...your stretching my brain...I can see the emblem but it's alittle fuzzy. I know they had it in '78 when dad went back to wrenching.

 

I'm pretty sure the old Jimmy was a '58....side loading a d8 on that was a pain in the axx.

 

I drove one of those back in the day for a short time. It had a L10 300 Cummins with a 7 speed. Weaker than a popcorn f@#t.

 

These all had L10 300’s.

 

I was hauling steel coils with that thing. It took forever to get up enough speed to shift into 7th gear.

 

Went and explored burney falls today. Pretty neat place.

 

First medium duty wrecker I drove looked like this one. Thought i was the stuff winding that thing up and grabbin' that spliter!!
