Just 1, I’m leaving Friday, which is why I’m ready to bail on this crap company; “We limit our home time to 4 days off”, geez thanks for the special circumstances consideration

The 1st year I went to my local marinas passed out cards with rates for pulling boats on their trailers. It worked better than I hoped. But to come home I'd pull some BS off u-ship!! LoL, Thank God that's over!!

I still can't get a good foot hold in local stuff. All I can pull is available, but it pays peanuts so screw em. That's even putting ~40k lbs on & still sucks..

I get some stuff on internet truck stop, or the DAT board. The ones from the board, sometimes me & my gal play games with them to drive the rates up. Trade secret.. Also I've been doing this ~6years, so I've got a pretty good data base of brokers built up. They'll call me, or email loads they think will work for my wagon, & I'll tell them where I'm headed, so if they need something moved they got a reliable, guy. Not that it's some feat of accomplishment, (well today maybe) but I'm always early, or on time, I communicate IN ENGLISH!, I'm polite, dressed for work, & I don't damage freight. Sad, but just doing the job makes a name for yourself today..

The direct customers I have are extremely spotty. All FL based, but I'm lucky if one calls once a month. Not high volume. To be honest, I've been a little lazy, & need to make some rounds. Had this step in service since October. My directs still only call for hotshot size loads. Maybe I can pick up some more from them, or even new customers now that I've got little more deck, & capacity..

I also do alot of late afternoon pickup, 0700 delivered loads. I've always got HOS left on my clock if need be. Crane apts. are another one I like to do. Possible late penalties drive up rates too.. I'm going to stop talking now..

 

That truck leaves when you want it to leave. Idgaf what company policy is if i have a reason I need to be home then I'm home till that reason is no longer at play.

If you aint busy tomorrow gimme a shout on telly and remind me to check into the cutoff in the shop yard. I spotted it today and forgot to ask the boss about it if you're still considering the tandems

 

I’ve been trying to fly below the radar until I get 6 months and then it’s f it all lol wouldn’t do me any good to come this far just to be fired right before my first 6 months, not sure if staying longer would get me fired though; luckily I have other family next door for neighbors and 2 other siblings
