Back when I was young, I made the same mistakes that everyone else made. Trying to wear clothes to attract girls. Trying to be tough and standing in the corner all night at parties. Being a clown and doing stupid pet tricks to get some pretty girl to laugh. They will laugh alright. They will still be laughing as they turn and leave.
The old folks would tell us, "When you quit trying, they will come around." The exact opposite of what we learned from watching all of those stupid movies and TV sitcoms. "If at first you don't succeed, try again." Work this girl, be at her beckoned call, offer candy and flowers, be witty, tell jokes, be well-mannered and chivalrous, and one day she will see how nice you are and fall for you. Wanna hear something shameful? I thought that Porky's was a good movie when it came out. Today, I am ashamed to even admit that I went to the theatre to watch it.
The wisest thing I've ever learned from any movie was the "Do or Do Not...there is no Try" part. In other words, don't wait until the girl is pretty until you try to converse with her. Don't attempt to be chivalrous and well-mannered for her. Don't try to be tough at the parties. Don't try to attract her with clothes or words or anything. Either converse with everyone or converse with no one. Either be chivalrous and well-mannered with everyone or no one. Do not try to attract her, be it either with clothes, or money or a car, or 6 pack abs, or by doing stupid pet tricks. Own it. Either you are or you are not. Do not try to be something that you are not to attract a girl.
