    If u want a really nice quiet spot at that flying j. Go around back on that bumpy ### exit road. Park on left side there up by the stop sign, is a big canal area where all the snow melt drains thru. During the spring it is beautiful weather windows open listening to the water flow. One of my favorite spots

    Always get the snow crabs and a good bottle of sauvignon..... Totally different experience

    The wine brings out the sweetness in the crab....big bowl of clarified butter....a simple table fork will make quick work of them if ya know what your doing.

    One of our favorite meals...usually only two or three times a year....usually in the winter months

    On the far left coast...otter has been grounded....dry docked....up on blocks! Was all set to go back to work 9/8, but I found out over breakfast....all generations and households represented (Reno and CA), primarily the one I lovingly refer to as "my ######" ....well they pulled an intervention on me. The chemo has caused a major episode of edema to begin in my right foot and ankle,spreading up to my knee,now it has started the same progression on the left side. Evidently, edema can lead to cellulitus, which in turn can enhance risk of stroke and heart attack....(I knew that) ...so the family said in no nice kinda way.....THERE IS NO WAY YOU ARE GOING BACK ON THE ROAD. Then they toned it down and said they have figured it out, we will get on medicare parts B and D,vision, and dental, for about $160.00 a month. I will stay on my CA disability thru mid Feb and use that to pay down all the bills. Deb will then begin taking her SSI and I can get one of my shovels working and dig my own hole...(my comment, trying to put levity in....got smacked by my mother-in-law)
    So in the morning,will be calling Wilson to be up front with them...they have been good to me, so I owe them that. Insurance ends 8/31 so the 9/3 final chemo is going to go on hold until the medicare is in force. but I DON'T have to wait for the annual open enrolment since I am experiencing a life altering event;
    1..Losing insurance
    2. losing employment
    3. in cancer treatments
    so with this,the law says medicare goes immediately. Just need to find which group to do it through....got options so let the bidding process begin....phone is gonna be busy for sure!
    So one more chemo, then the body scan to confirm the numbers (blood work ups) are in sync with the disease, then there is the every 90 day hormone injection at 17k per injection....so much BS in medicine all greed for sure. Will be switching from UC Davis to our local hospitaland doctors up here in Placerville.

    To be honest...I was relieved when they all jumped on me...this last round of chemo really did a toll on me. And the other cancer survivors I have been chatting with all agree...you never get your strength back at our age....don't think it would be a good idea to out on the highway in my condition.

    Sorry to hear this. I'm sure everyone here was rooting for you to get back to work, and looking forward to seeing your return.

    On the other side, your attitude and courage is just amazing. My SIL has survived cancer, twice, it was throughout her body. So with surety we know you've walked through hell and overcame great tribulations, the likes of which most can't imagine. You're to be applauded, and we hope you'll continue to share your journey.

    Could I get a little help with trip planning to Long Island? Im looking for the easiest route more or less, seems there’s a ton of low clearance bridges there 224E23F2-32C5-4509-A61D-455E3A9919F0.png
