Man I may be young but my ticker can’t handle any more lmfao I took your post seriously at first; there were about 5 cars in total in the small exit lane, all having to slow down to make the exit and the truck in front of me finally realized he needed to get tf out of the way and got over either into the exit lane or the shoulder, I don’t remember because my eyeballs were pretty much out of my head at that point and I immediately grabbed my chest

I usually travel the speed limit give or take. Shave more speed off sooner than usual for hard curves and ramps. If you have the typical Western Express trailer, it'll probably sway and wallow a bit. Ride easy the first hour and get a feel for it. Like @Rontonio said, more following distance and more room for braking is mandatory. Be ready to work a little going over Monteagle, and watch yourself going down the other side. You'll be fine.

@farmerjohn64 when I’m OSOW I really take my time and plan way ahead like rontino said. As for clover leafs and exits i follow posted curve signs sometimes slower depending on conditions. There’s several videos out that show the proper way to secure the ingot. Take your time you’ll do great. If dispatch pushes you just tell them your being extra cautious with this load. It’s heavy. Trust they don’t like to stop easy. And your still on the lighter side.

drive the load not the road.

Hell no. Its similar metal. Chain can cross chains. Straps can cross straps. Straps and chain can not cross.

Shotgun coils you cross 2 chains, not all.. Skidded you cross the front pallet. And rear in your company's case. Over 4 foot tall skidded you cross 3 chains.

You do not cross chain on suicide.

Equipment on wheels over 10k. You cross chain.

If some one can prove chain can damage chain in a x. Ill buy the beer.

Honestly I didn’t think it made much sense myself because what’s the difference between a chain touching the load like a coil and another chain (also metal)

I still disagree with that bs rule of not crossing chains on a suicide coil. Ill fight to the death that its one of the absolute dumbest rules in the history of steel hauling!
