About a 10' long piece of conduit with hook and a bit of chain on one end. That load was hard to pull. 10 reels, 48k lbs from Ranco Domingo to SC I think it was. High and heavy like that always makes for a tough ride.

:oops:Hey hey, look at me!! I can haul baby wires too!! Lmao

So "usually" there is a long steel, or PVC pipe at the loading site with a small loop of rope affixed to the end. Hook the chain ends on & shove it through to the other side.

I say usually because if you look at my load of baby wire, I only got a chain through the last single one, as the pole had gone missing, & it appears my broom stick has gone missing..?

Not ideal, but I was only able to fish 2" straps through the doubles with my winch bar. It still met the WLL requirements, as each spool was ~1800lbs, & the 2" straps I got WLL is 3333lbs..

Edit. Dang it, @PoleCrusher got ya.. I'm slow..

@Isafarmboy posted some of his vids here as well. Most, if not all his opinions and views match mine and he is pretty entertaining. I like his Spotlight on Saskatchewan videos too. Stuff like the #9 Wire, Sask. Grain Truck Regs, Small Town Rumour Mill etc.

So in general you secure spools like this through the hole in the center? I swear I recall a discussion somewhere on this forum where one driver had something like @D.Tibbitt posted a picture of, dude secured it not through the hole but instead on the outside of it on the metal lowest to the trailer; who knows that was so long ago lol that’s clearly not even possible for ones like yours and @PoleCrusher ’s

I like FFDP but the Kenny Wayne Shepherd original is much better lol lot more subtle; that guy made me wanna drive a fire truck, I noticed how he busted that u without uh, having to jackknife the trailer
