they probably do it because it’s “safe” as in they can walk away at any given moment and take the money they’ve been paying themselves weekly and no longer worry about the truck at all.
more people would probably buy directly from dealers if they had the actual start up funds — LP just gives these drivers the convenience of having it all in one place from one company with no money down.Brettj3876, Eldiablo, cke and 6 others Thank this. -

When you get your saw...do some experimenting with the different brands of chain. Oregon has actually the better price levels, but a bit of a lesser steel in my book, compared to the Stihl brand. Also, learn how to file your chain. Every time you fuel you should do 2 or 3 passes on each cutter, and keep the rake at the correct height. Don't fall into the trap and let your dealer sharpen your chains. They use a grinder and will always use too much pressure which overheats the cutter which reduces the life of the chain...plus it will dull out real quick. Learn to do it yourself.
Here is a video of how to sharpen a chain by hand...the stump clamp he is using is a must have item, keeps you at the worksite instead of wasting time running back to the shop for your vise.

I definitely need a workhorse of a chainsaw; besides the trees that recently fell in the front yard over the years we’ve had a couple fall along our trails in the woods and there’s definitely a lot of work to be had with a chainsaw
