Question about replacing a speed sensor. How far do you screw it out after it bottoms out? It's a 2 wire type. Does it matter which way the wires hook up or do you just connect them & it should work?

For your tach? I always make sure the threads are clean, bottom it out with my finger, then back it out 1 revolution or 1 thread. 2 threads shouldn’t hurt a thing actually.....cke, 650cat425, jamespmack and 4 others Thank this. -

I’d do it the same way.....
Speedometer picks up off a toothed collar, tack picks up off the teeth of the flywheel. At least on my setup, and both mine are electronic.... -
I did a quick search, & what I gather from reading, not doing mind you, is the 2 wire setup the wires can be connected either way.. -
