I never minded doing pipe loads. Easy to tie down and the guy on the loader would put the smoke tarp on. Unless it was the small like 1 inch conduit pipe. They could be PITA

 

I got that from a retired trucker slash hoarder. He told me the telephone repair guys wore them in the 50's around here. So idk.
