Hahaha I’m a sucker for shiny things and plastic doesn’t have a glossy finish to it; I’m not sure when they went to plastic but I’m guessing late 50’s early 60’s; really if you want a typewriter like most collectibles/antiques you want to get one that’s pre war, everything went towards the war effort and was made more cheaply back then, unless of course what you’re looking for is post war
