I did not know that, and I have watched my share of Gunsmoke. Ole Festus didn't look like singing material.

Let me run this by you guys.....I got a customer that has a 2000 379/10 speed/6NZ/1.2 million/never overhauled. It has sat for 6 months because the frame behind the sleeper is corroded badly and wouldn't pass DOT Inspection and it's for sale. They bought it new and it has only had 2 drivers in it. It's pulled farm chemicals in a van it's whole life around Kansas. The corrosion came from not being washed regularly by the original driver, especially during winter. It also had $14,000 of work done to it the year before...brakes, steering, u-joint, etc. Assuming a guy could stub the frame or replace both rails....what would you be willing pay? One of their drivers told me Friday the manager turned down $10k when they parked it but he thinks that might be enough today.

Forgot to mention they got a set of new 24.5 caps for the drives. So if I could get it for <$15k I might just go for it.

I think your pretty close between 10-15. If the corrosion is pretty well in the one spot I wouldn't be afraid of just replacing a section. If not I have seen one rail at a time done slid in an out that wasn't too bad of a job
