You'd have to pay me 1k just to climb up and over the dog house to get to that coffin box of a sleeper. I ran a dedicated K-Mart run for 2 weeks from Sparks, NV out to the north coast of CA covering the regular driver who was on vacation. But that was a "modern" Freightliner Argosy...actually a comfortable ride. It's that first step climbing out that can be a bit dicey. Had to be a cabover due to length restrictions in CA.

Running downhill through town on a skating rink bouncing the drives off the curb to slow you down and keep you straight.... Only sole around in the middle of nowhere plowing snow with the bumper on a narrow two lane using the fence post to figure out where the road is.....dropping one off the side to keep you moving and it's blowing so hard when you look in the mirror the trailer is taking up the whole other lane....

Somethings in life I really don't care to repeat....

Till I got to long, had to put a crate on passenger seat and a briefcase for my feet. But the briefcase was used to cover the curb window and hide to get into the steel mills. I fit between seat and dash.

Sounds like the night about 15 years ago I fought the PA Turnpike in a blizzard, using the rumble strips for more traction to drag doubles up the mountain through the Allegheny Tunnel.

Welp, had two loads on the books. Cut down to one. Then I get the call....."hey where ya at?" Said "heading west, bout the Stateline". Said "stop!".......after a few minutes they tell me they changed their mind. They want the load to go to another yard. "Do ya know where the zanesville yard is ?"........love when a plan comes together !
